Most mornings when we wake up there’s a routine. For many people it involves getting up, getting dressed and hurrying to work or running errands. There is such a great hurry that breakfast gets rushed, ignored or totally forgotten. Are you guilty of committing this crime (Yes it is a crime in 49 states. We are still working on New Hampshire)? If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone tell me they didn’t eat breakfast I would be a wealthy woman! Continue reading
Welcome to another edition of Photo Friday! For this shoot I worked with a great photographer named Rags Kanyi (http://ragskanyiphotographyblog.com/). It was a blast working with him, and at the end of the day I feel we captured some great shots when I was in that real workout zone. I try to diversify my portfolio with each new shoot by changing up the look and the types of shots I do so please let me know what you think about the pics. Don’t be shy about commenting or contacting me.
Another week is in the books. We are getting closer and closer to the end of March and the end of our 3000 Squat Challenge. Are you still on pace? What is your favorite type of squat exercise? Are you seeing results? Hopefully you have big plans for the weekend. I know I do because…TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! Feel free to take off from work as this is a national holiday. For some reason there was an error at the printer and it seems not to be showing up on calendars. Continue reading
Another week is coming to a close. Hopefully you haven’t forgotten about the 3000 Squat challenge. We have now passed the halfway point and are heading towards the finish line. If you’ve fallen a little behind or are just getting into it don’t worry. If you need a spark to get you back into it, or some motivation to keep going, I’ve got some dynamic stretching exercises to warm you up, squat techniques to get you right, some other squat techniques to spice it up, and some static stretches to cool you down.
I told you yesterday to look out for new pictures from me and without further adieu here is Part 1 of the “On the Rocks” series. Continue reading
Happy Woman’s Day! I hinted yesterday about some more pics from my photo shoot a few weeks ago and here they are! Let me know what you think and don’t be shy about giving suggestions for future photo shoots.
Don’t forget about the 3000 Squat Challenge. I’m sure it’s tough; I know it is for me. The middle of any task can always be challenging as the excitement of the beginning wears off and the glory of the end seems so far away but stick with it!
Have a great weekend! Any plans?

A few weeks ago I did a fitness photo shoot with Daniel Smiley, an amazing photographer. He did my first ever fitness shoot a year ago and since he did such an amazing job I just had to work with him again. This shoot was set in a studio and I just kept it natural, no props or anything. For the past two months I’ve been working so hard training and really perfecting my craft. Although there is still plenty of work to do I am so pleased with the results of the pictures. It’s always motivating to see all the hard work and dedication starting to pay off! I’d love to hear what you think about these photos. Do you have any suggestions for future photo shoots?
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO:
Don’t forget about the 3000 Squat Challenge and make sure to get your squats in for today! We’re 5 days in. I’m sure your feeling it in your legs which is good :-). Keep up the hard work! Tomorrow I will be giving you different dynamic warm-up stretches you can do before starting your squats or any other exercises. Also, look out for some behind-the-scenes photos from a project I was part of recently ;).

Exciting times!! Not only are we 4 days into the 3000 squat challenge but Creighton University, my little brother’s basketball team, won their conference championship game and got an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament!! The game was nerve racking for me but really exciting. It went to overtime but in the end they were able to pull it off. I had to do my 200 squats as well as 100 push ups and 100 ab exercises during the game to help keep my nerves down during the game!
