Wrapping Up The May Push-Up Challenge

I hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day Weekend! I had fun hanging out with family and friends at the lake, and even got to take a ride on a yacht. There was also a photo shoot and some BBQ mixed in. I didn’t want the weekend to end but time is undefeated and it’s back to business.

We are almost done with our 1000 Push-Up Challenge. I’m proud to say that I’m now able to do push-ups again after dealing with my injury and have done 2,000 push-ups for the month. Since Thursday is the last day of the month I would love to hear how many push-ups everyone achieved. You can either post your total amount on the LMC Fitness Fan Page or in the comments section of this site. We are still looking for pictures of you all doing your push-ups. The last few days be sure to push yourself and try some of the more challenging push-ups. If you need a refresher you can find them here, here, here and here.

I’m sure at some point during this month’s challenge you asked yourself, “Why am I doing these? Why push-ups?” One reason why we did push-ups this month is because push-ups are a great upper body strength exercise. It’s an exercise you can perform anywhere and you don’t have to use any equipment. When doing push-ups the main target area is the chest but different forms of push-ups also work are triceps, abs, and hip stability. Studies show push-ups are the best exercise for the chest but also help with lower back muscles and the quads. Basically, push-ups are a great total body exercise that isolates the upper body muscles while incorporating the lower body. Even when our monthly challenge is over try to still incorporate push-ups into your weekly routine at least a few times a week.

What To Look Forward To

What would you like next month’s challenge to be? In March we did squats, April we did abs, and May was for push-ups. June is going to be fan’s choice month. I’m open to any suggestions and would love to hear them. You can post your suggestions on LMC Fitness Fan Page, in the comments, or contact me.

  1. I know my arms are much stronger. I started this challenge only able to do 7 regular/traditional push ups. I’m finishing up doing 75+ regular/traditional push ups!!! I’m so proud of myself and these new guns I’ve aquired!!! :)
